Why can't I feed myself with executive dysfunction?
Eating requires deciding what, checking what's available, preparing it and cleaning up — four executive tasks stacked while your blood sugar is already low. That's why people with ADHD skip meals and then crash, which further reduces the capacity needed to cook. It's a loop, not a character flaw.

The hunger-paralysis loop
Low blood sugar reduces executive capacity, which makes cooking harder, which delays eating, which lowers blood sugar further. By evening you're too depleted to make food and too hungry to think. Breaking the loop early matters more than what you eat.
Zero-decision food
Keep a shelf of food that requires no choices and no cooking: bars, nuts, yoghurt, bread, tinned fish, ready meals, frozen portions. This isn't giving up on nutrition, it's guaranteeing that eating happens on low days.
Same meal, every day
Repetition removes the biggest cost, which is deciding. One fixed breakfast and two rotating dinners eliminates dozens of daily decisions. If boredom hits, change the rotation, not the principle.
