How do you make appointments with ADHD?
Make the call the moment you think of the appointment, using a script written on a sticky note. ADHD appointment paralysis is driven by phone-menu uncertainty and the fear of finding the right time. A script and a pre-chosen time slot reduce the call to a simple delivery.

Why phone calls freeze ADHD brains
Phone calls are real-time, with no pause button and no script. The receptionist might ask a question you haven't prepared for. That uncertainty makes the call feel risky, so the brain avoids it. Writing the script removes the uncertainty.
The 30-second script
'Hi, I'm a patient of Dr. X and I'd like to book an appointment. My best times are Tuesday or Thursday mornings. Do you have anything in the next two weeks?' Keep it on paper in front of you. If they ask something unexpected, say 'Let me check and call back' — that is allowed.
Put it straight in the calendar
The moment you hang up, add the appointment and set two reminders: one a week before, and one the day before. The hardest part is not the appointment itself — it is the loop of 'did I actually book that?' that keeps running.

Cancellation is a separate task. Write the cancellation script in advance too.
Should I batch appointments?+
If possible, book recurring checkups in the same week so you only enter 'appointment mode' once.
